Patrick Garvey - President
Patrick Garvey served 25 plus years in the United States Air Force retiring as a Colonel and additionally served as a Director of Business Development for The Boeing Company, retiring in 2011. He currently serves on the. Board of Director for Edmarc, Inc, an exempt 501(c)3 charity. He’s the financial planning committee chair at his church, responsible for the planning and execution of a $500,000 annual budget.
Christine Salak - President Elect
Christine Salak is non-profit director with experience in operations, community relations, member engagement, staff/volunteer development, fundraising, developing a philanthropic culture, media relations and marketing. She is currently the senior operations Director at the Victory Family YMCA serving families and individual in the Poquoson, Yorktown and surrounding areas. In addition to her involvement with the Foundation, Christine is the vice president for the Kiwanis Club of Poquoson and the assistant den leader for first girls den for Pack 28 Cub Scouts.
Donald Taylor - Secretary
He is a self-employed Dentist who has been actively involved in the community for many years. He currently serves as the secretary of the Kiwanis Club of. Poquoson and has done so for nearly 10 years.
Michael Dasovich - Treasurer
He is an employee of SAIC, formerly Engility. He is a 1978 graduate of. the US Naval Academy, BS degree in Management and Technology, which included a. full semester in Accounting. He has 6 grandchildren. He volunteers his time in efforts to support making the world a better place, one child at a time in honor of his grandchildren.
Leigh Feningsohn
She recently retired as a nonprofit executive director having spent most of her professional career with nonprofit organizations. Her skills include developing effective community boards, grant writing and fundraising, communications and efficient service delivery. She has a passion for youth development and was instrumental in growing a local nonprofit organization for at-risk youth that was recognized as a national model. Ms. Fenigsohn has a masters degree in public administration and undergraduate degrees in sociology and education.
Tu Ritter
Tu Ritter has served on and chaired the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtor Charitable Foundation for several years. He also served on the the local St. Judes board, served and chaired the Poquoson Business Alliance, Christopher Newport University Alumni board, served and current President of the Peninsula Housing and Builders Association.
Dennis McDevitt, Jr
Dennis McDevitt served almost 25 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a Colonel, has been a program manager for Lockheed-Martin and is currently employed by the USAF as a Deputy Division Chief at Langley AFB managing a division budget of $700,000 and the organizing, training, and equipping of 12 major USAF weapon systems. He currently serves on the Board of Director for The Poquoson Sailing Foundation an exempt 501(c)3 charity. Dennis also serves on his parish finance council supporting his pastor’s planning and execution of a budget of approximately $800,000.
